By Heart and Hand
1985 - 77"x87"
In l984 the St. Louis Art Museum held a special American
Folk Art exhibit called "By Heart and Hand." I fell in love with a
Whig's Defeat quilt in the exhibit, and this was my attempt to
recreate the quilt. I added diamonds to the top and bottom of the
quilt to make it fit better on the bed.
