The centerpiece is an adaptation of a design on lampposts that are in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. The lampposts were designed by Cass Gilbert, the architect of the Art Museum. They were installed in 1915.

Honors:

  • Better Homes and Gardens Books Grand Prize in Applique in 1989.
  • Best of Show at the University City, MO Historical Society Exhibit in 1991.
  • First prize awards in Missouri, Vermont and Indiana.
  • Pictured on the cover of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, October 1990.
